Into the Unknown – South Coast & Visions of Somerset Exhibitions

Louise Prior has held her first exhibition here at Bridgy gallery – this was a fantastic start to our summer season Louise is a local artist this is just what the gallery was created for – to give newly emerging artists a place to show off their work to gain experience of the needs of an exhibition from frames to hanging also information about the work, themselves, the exhibition, pricing allowing for gallery commission, opening events and self promotion. It does not stop there – photography, printing, social media and interviews to name a few of the other things that need doing! These six weeks just flew by and following Louise’s success the garage gallery showed off Gina Marshall & Jenetta Bird’s South Coast exhibition with beach and seaside scenes which sizzled in the heatwave. These six weeks too went by at an alarming rate all the time Tony Machin was painting with passion, completing his paintings for his August exhibition. Now hanging in Bridgy gallery’s Garage gallery, a fantastic collection of new local landscapes and street scenes painted with skill, fresh eyes, having moved to the area only months ago.

The wood gate has been temporarily fixed will need starting again to fix it permanently. The last touches needed for the Bathroom, easels in the undercover yard and the A frames – took delivery of a job lot of old wooden school chairs perfect for the Art experience days coming next year. ArtED’s for short! Chris is building a children’s table suitable height for the chairs.

The Bunting was up for the Queen jubilee she took center stage in the gallery window for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations – ice-creams a plenty – Colourful new sign to let the public having their cars washed know that we do ice-cream and drinks Wed – Sun. I had to take it easy as my heart was playing up and demanded a rest and some platinum of its own!

Somerset arts week is on the horizon – we are all geared up to welcome art lovers to see Tony’s work including his work Sanctuary the theme of this year event. Exciting times!
