More progress on the display areas but first I must tell you about the lovely gift from one of the galleries neighbors, a deep black, shiny glass topped coffee table, please see photos a lovely addition will look great with the green reception chairs with shiny black legs perfect for a cup of coffee and a contemplation of the art.
The reception has moved on a little with the reveals of the windows now plastered – still a little bit of plastering to do here and there but getting very close to needing painting now – the paint I finally settled on is a very pale washable matt pebble grey, a halfway between the white and the grey. Jamie our joiner is back to do the cupboards at the front of the reception, under the main display window one cupboard to keep the gas meter in and a small cupboard for reception use. He will also be using his talents to construct the disabled loo sliding door and the cupboard doors over the boiler in the old loo.
Please see photographs of the snazzy tiled windowsill in the garage just waiting for that to set then all ready for the final clean and secondary glazing installation. Its all getting so close to the final finish now can’t wait for the electrics to be completed and the flooring down it is going to look so different and ready to display some stunningly colourful artwork, just brings a big smile to my face!
I have been working on business cards, stationary, stickers, packaging and getting the stock ready for opening with paintings, prints, frames, cards, wearable art tote bags and art cushions.
The side door opening is very narrow and I have had to order a made to fit special door for the opening have asked for a open out door with clear glass top so you can see the display wall outside. Once this door has been installed I can get the alarm company to fit the new alarm system.
Well it seems it’s not just the gallery that needs some renovation my doctors have found out what’s wrong and I am having an operation to fix me up this week so there may be a little gap in blogging but then there will be lots to see next time because Will and Jamie are on site while I’m in hospital.
