More dramatic events at the Gallery this evening – Will and Chris came to make the hole in the carriage house ceiling at the far wall, which I had emptied in preparation for the internal stairs work, down came the ceiling boards with a quantity of wood shavings and sawdust, then quickly up the outside stairs to take up floor boards at the far wall above the central support of the painting studio, only a part of a single joist removed to make the space needed for the stair. then the stairs were tried out in the space created it was a satisfying good fit, just need some new wood to line the hole then stairs can be fitted.
Fantastic start, so exciting to see them already looking at home, good job Will and Chris, just amazing what you two can achieve in such a short time, no doubt the careful installation work will be slower and less dramatic but even more important.
