Well the old rotten wooden lintel is no more, replaced by a strong concrete one crowning the coffee/tea making area, the sagging brickwork all replaced – impressive job Will. I am looking forward to seeing it when we have added the slate splash-back and kitchen work surface. Photos of progress so far loaded in January photos.
The toilet walls and doorway marked out on the new suspended floor ready for tomorrow morning when they will be built. All the reception walls are insulated including under the front window/display shelf. Brass piano hinge found for flush door for the alarm control box.
Chris brought flooring sample as promised it’s a dark grey almost leather look vinyl with a 15 year guarantee, easy clean and designed foe high traffic areas. I have a quote including fitting – not ready for flooring just yet – need a ceiling and a some window returns and door adjustments first.
I am looking at secondary glazing for the three old windows in reception and the crittall window in the garage. I want to keep the eclectic mix of sash, barred and casement windows as I feel it will retain the character of the building while ensuring no great loss of warmth in this my cosy area.
